We are often asked why we do not offer GOTS certified alpaca wool.The answer: So far there are only very few alpaca farms that are certified. Unlike sheep farms, alpaca farms are usually very small and the animals roam relatively freely in the mountains. Monitoring the pastures according to the GOTS guidelines is accordingly difficult and too expensive for small alpaca farmers. For the future, however, the production of an undyed alpaca version with GOTS certificate, planned by BC Garn.
